Linen is a textile made from the fibers of the flax plant, Linum usitatissimum (its binomial name), which is a member of the genus Linum in the family Linaceae. Its manifacturing is very ancient: some traces were found in a grotto in Georgia dated back to 30 000 B.C.
Until ancient ages, linen was consedered a symbol of purity. In fact in ancient Egypt, it was seen as a symbol of light and purity, and as a display of wealth., come Babilonian and Phoenician people use linen to weave there textiles.
